What Does The Future Hold For Us In The Triangle
So what’s happening now in Raleigh, Wake County and the Triangle. Downtown Raleigh is hopping, I’ve never seen this much activity in the fifteen or so years we have been here. Restaurants, bars, retail and housing are all taking over old store fronts or building towers from scratch. Jobs in the form of Red Hat and Citrix who both have or will have headquarters in Raleigh. Old warehouses transformed into modern high tech work spaces staffed by well paid employees, I’d say this looks good for the future of Raleigh. The rest of the Triangle in parts is seeing similar growth if of a different style. Downtown Durham with the historic Tobacco District, DPAC and the Durham Bulls is a huge success and a lot of fun. Cary just landed an additional 1237 new jobs with the expansion of HCL in Regency Park. This comes shortly after MetLife announced they were moving to Cary adding 1300 jobs to it’s new global technology and operations hub on Weston Parkway.
Some Awards Don’t Make It To Forbes
There are smaller awards and kudos handed out that may not make it to a big magazine like Forbes, but are the essential part of why people choose to live here, work here and raise a family here. Teacher of the Month, Best BBQ Restaurant, Best Strawberry Farm, #1 Swim Team, Progress Reports! These are the quality of life awards that motivates people to move and settle on a particular spot. Once you explore the region, you’ll find a multitude of places to live, from downtown apartments to country farms, mobile homes to mansions. In some cases your choice will be limited by price and selection, others by schools or lack there of. Planned urban designed neighborhoods fostering a sense of community or big private wooded lots, the choice is yours.
