Griflos Investing In Clayton and Johnston County
Grifols the global healthcare company based in Barcelona, Spain has just opened their state of the art plasma manufacturing facility in Clayton, NC. The $370 million dollar investment will add 200 new jobs for Johnston County and contribute to almost 2300 employees the company employs in North Carolina. The 155,000 square foot facility will be the worlds largest and one of the most advanced plasma fractionation facilities. The plant in Clayton will eventually produce 6 million liters of plasma a year.
Jobs and Growth Predicted In North Carolina
Grifols is the largest private employer in Johnston County, with 1650 employees at the plant located on US Hwy 70 just outside Clayton. They also have a corporate facility in Research Triangle Park bringing the total number of employees to 2300. Clayton, NC Home To Emerging Technologies And Healthcare
Grifols President and CEO Victor Grifols and Greg Rich CEO of Grifols Inc provided their visitors with a tour of the modern facility. The company has two other potential projects planned, a $7.5 million warehouse and a $22.5 million administrative building. The Griflos plant is located near other large international companies. Novo Nordisk a global healthcare company. Bayer CropScience, which just opened a support facility for The North American Bee Center in Research Triangle Park. The Clayton facility of heavy machinery manufacturer Caterpillar, who last year opened the Caterpillar Machine Development Center on Hwy 42 East.
Transportation Projects Planned In The County
The mood around Clayton and Johnston County is that more growth is coming and it could be more than previously seen. New homes are popping up everywhere and the possibility of some major road investment signals that folks are taking a long look at the area for big and small projects.
