Jones Lunch, 3 Generations of Jones since 1958
Looking for a restaurant in Clayton NC. Jones Lunch on Main Street in Clayton is part of the fabric of this growing town and it’s now in the hands of the third Jones to run it. Burr Jones and his wife Chrystal are now the new owners of Jones Lunch in Clayton after taking over the business from Burr’s father Curtis Jones who retired after 30 years. Curtis took the restaurant over from his parents in 1983 and they opened the restaurant in Clayton in 1958. Burr has long dreamed of owning the restaurant in Clayton having worked there with his dad for so long.
Breakfast and Lunch in Clayton NC
Jones Lunch is a classic southern small town diner where the locals come for breakfast and conversation, some have been coming for decades. The bright checkered tablecloths and old time Coke signs take you back to when the Jones opened the place in the fifties. Back then you could get a hotdog for 25 cents and while the prices have gone up some you can still get a great breakfast or lunch here and it won’t break the bank.
Best Hot Dogs in Clayton
Jones Lunch is open from 6.30Am to 2PM Monday thru Saturday for breakfast and lunch and Burr just added dinner on Thursday nights from 5PM – 8PM. They are famous for their red hot dogs which come on super soft rolls and topped with chili or slaw, mustard or ketchup, folks drive from all over for the dogs at Jones Lunch.

Breakfast at Jones Lunch will get you started on the right foot and you’ll have money left over for lunch, eggs, bacon sausage, grits, good coffee and friendly waitstaff. Lunch, if you aren’t having hot dogs could be hamburgers with crispy fries, and sandwiches and lots more.
