Art in Clayton North Carolina
Millstock is organized by the Clayton Visual Arts group which is responsible for many of the art projects and exhibits around town. They are charged with bringing “Art to Clayton” and you can see that even as you drive around downtown with wonderful outdoor sculptures of all mediums. The Clayton Center is currently home to an exhibition of local artists who entered the Paint the Town competition which is held every other year. They also host Art Fair which is held in September and offers six awards in two categories, fine arts (painting, graphics, printmaking, mixed media, collage, fiber arts) and photography. A total of $1900 in prize money is up for grabs. The deadline to enter is Monday 24th at 5PM.
Clayton Farmers Market
Horne Square on Saturdays in the Spring and Summer is home to the Clayton Farmers Market and the local farmers and suppliers will be there this Saturday as well. One stop shopping, some art work, excellent wines and some free range eggs or local honey, not bad for a Saturday afternoon in Clayton, NC. With the new restaurants in Clayton, NC, stores opening like Wine on Main and the craft brewery Deep River Brewing, festivals, road races, and concert series there’s a lot going on.
